British Airways staff teamed up with Sport Relief celebrity supporters ‘The Body Coach’ Joe Wicks, presenter Gabby Logan MBE, sports broadcaster Gary Lineker OBE, boxer Nicola Adams OBE, sprinter Iwan Thomas MBE and paralympic silver medalist Alfie Hewett, who led the 90-strong team to bring the airline’s brand new A350 over 100 m and set the new world record for the Heaviest Aircraft Pulled Over 100 Meters by a team (mixed).
The sponsorship of British Airways for Sport Relief comes as part of the global charitable collaboration between the airline and Comic Relief, Flying Start, which works on helping young people in communities around the world have a better start to life.
The aircraft weighed 182.9 tonnes, which helped the team break the world 180 ton record.
