RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Located 22 kilometers from the Kingdom’s first UNESCO Heritage site, Al-Hijr Archeological Site, Saudi Arabia’s Maraya Concert Hall, designed by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), offers a mirage effect of its surrounding environment, using a first-of – a-kind, project designed by Guardian Glass solution. The building sets the world record for being the World’s largest mirror-clad building.
The exterior cladding shows mirrors measuring 9,740 square metres, above the norm measuring 6,500 square metres. The Maraya concert hall is named as such because ‘Maraya’ in Arabic means reflection or mirror.
The architecture and intent of the 500-seat Maraya Concert Hall is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to diversify its economy, boost tourism, and establish a new Middle East heritage and entertainment centre.
