Largest Aquarium in the World
The Chimelong Ocean Kingdom sets the world record ‘Largest aquarium in the World’; is a theme park located in People’s Republic of China at Hengqin, Zhuhai. It is developed by PGAV Destinations. On 28 November 2010, the park broke ground and on 28 January 2014 soft-opened. The grand opening took place the same year on 29 March. The park’s first stage cost RMB 10 billion to construct. It is part of the Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort, which strives to become the “Orlando of China.”This is the 10th most visited theme park in the world in 2018, according to TEA and AECOM, with 10.83 million tourists.
Among its attractions are a wide variety of entertainment activities, animal exhibits, as well as the world’s largest oceanarium with a total water capacity of 48.75 million liters (10.72 million UK gal; 12.87 million U.S.)
