The American executive and industrial engineer Timothy Donald Cook (born November 1, 1960). Cook is Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc. and has served as Chief Operating Officer under its co-founder Steve Jobs. Cook became Senior Vice President of Business Operations and then Executive Vice President of Sales and Operations worldwide in March 1998.

In his position as chief executive officer in the field of international and domestic monitoring cyber security, corporate taxation and American industry and protection of the environment he was appointed Chief Executive Officer on August 24, 2011, before the death of Jobs in October of that year. Cook also serves on the Nike Inc.’s boards of directors and is a trustee for Duke University, also director of National Football Foundation. He said he planned to give charity his entire fortune in March 2015.

Soon after Apple became the first American public corporation to reach a valuation of $1 trillion in August 2018, Cook was initially expected to receive around $120 million in stock. Having taken over the CEO position in 2011, he also won a restricted stock bonus, hitting the requirement that allowed the company’s stock to outperform those of two-thirds of S&P 500 firms over a three-year period. Apple pledged to spend $350 billion in the U.S. economy in early 2018, and add 20,000 new jobs over the next five years.

In 2018 alone, as part of the plan, the company pledged to spend $55 billion to build a new U.S. renewable-energy plant. Apple also said it would develop its advanced manufacturing program and expand its training programs to help teachers and students learn valuable computing skills
