Longest Nonstop Commercial Flight: Air Tahiti Nui flight TN064
The Revolutionary aircraft Boeing 787-9 twin-engine Dreamliner, French airline Air Tahiti Nui (flight TN064) makes world record for Longest ever scheduled Non-Stop Commercial Flight from Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
The journey stretched across French Polynesia to France by Air Tahiti Nui which traveled 9,765 miles (15,715 km) and took 15 hours and 45 minutes in terms of distance traveled. This route normally has a scheduled halt at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), however, the cause of Corona Pandemic the US laid travel restriction which led the flight to proceed further to Paris. The Canadian option has also later ruled out as they introduced a travel ban on March 16, 2020.
The aircraft included a crew of four pilots and flew the next-generation Boeing. Crew reported that the aircraft was not filled full, and though was able to commence the full journey without refilling. Airlines proved and promised to keep transiting links between France and Overseas Territory and said “it was an exceptional flight, operated in special context”.
Singapore Airlines holds the previous world record which offers scheduled passenger service between Singapore and Newark covering a distance of 9,534 miles11 October 2018. That flight still holds the record for the longest time and it is scheduled to take 18 hours and 45 minutes and on daily basis.
An experimental test flight by Australian carrier Qantas named project Sunrise flew 11,060 miles and 19 hours and 19 minutes non-stop between London and Sydney on Thursday 14 November 2019. Since there was no ticket paying passengers on-board, it cannot be counted as a scheduled service.
The aviation industry has been smashed hard by the coronavirus pandemic, with all the travelers around the world dealing with canceled flights and travel restriction as they are hurry to get home.
Nevertheless, one impossible Aviation record is the creation of the worlds longest Nonstop Commercial Flight record.
